To celebrate my team going to the World Series, here are some baseball links:
- The National Baseball Hall of Fame has a delightful site. The Exhibits and Baseball History sections contain a lot of material. Librarians will appreciate the "Research Lists" from the Research Library page--both for the effort involved and as a source for reference (Who's on first?).
- Play Ball! is a site by the Library of Congress with several illustrated stories about the history of baseball and a short bibliography.
- Baseball Cards 1887-1914 is another Library of Congress production with scanned images of 2100 early baseball cards. Look around at some of the older cards--I love the striped hats and waxed mustaches.
