Whole Library Handbook 4

When we get new books for the reference section, they spend a couple of weeks on a book cart behind the reference desk so that we have a chance to look at them during our desk hours. The current selection includes the Whole Library Handbook 4 edited by George M. Eberhart. Whole Library Handbook 3 was one of the sources I used as I was contemplating library school to help me ascertain that this was a world I wanted to enter.

The newest edition has a glossary of blogging terms. "Biblioblogosphere" is there, not credited to anyone (according to my memory, it was coined by Karen Schneider, but I don't have time to do the research to confirm it). "Blog people" is there and is credited to Michael Gorman. Here's a new one to me:

Blogopotoamus. A very long blog article. Usage: "Paul
Marks has done another Blogopotamus on Samizdata.net."

To use it in a sentence: I wonder if I'll ever have time to write a Blogopotamus again.     #
