Wanderings of a Student Librarian is a web log (blog) that records my journey as a student in the Masters of Library Science program at the School of Information Science and Learning Technologies through the University of Missouri. I'm not quite half-way through my coursework as I start this blog in June of 2004. I am far enough along to feel comfortable with the process, but still have plenty of adventures ahead of me to recount in a blog devoted to being a student librarian.
The entries in this blog will sometimes comprise a true web log, recording the discovery of useful web sites. Sometimes they will form a reading log. Sometimes the entries will be reflections on my experiences as a library student and my encounters with practicing librarians.
The courses I've completed as of December 2004 are:
This spring semester, I'm taking Digital Libraries and Research Methods. Both are offered completely on-line. This will be my first semester with no class meetings. I plan to take four more credits plus my comprehensive exam in the fall of 2005, graduating in December 2005.
